Human chorionic gonadotropin in short

Vitagon is an injectable preparation from Alpha Pharma, built around human chorionic gonadotropin. Human chorionic gonadotropin mimics luteinising hormone closely enough to stimulate the testes directly, which is why it works when the pituitary signal is suppressed.

It is used clinically in fertility treatment and off-label during or after a cycle to keep testicular function from shutting down completely. It is supplied as 3 vials of 5000 iu dry powder + 3 ampoules of 1 ml solvent.

It is supplied as a dry powder with a solvent and is reconstituted before use; once mixed it is kept refrigerated and used within the manufacturer's stated window. Keep the pack in its original carton, away from direct light and heat, and out of reach of children.
