Premarin is an oestrogen drug made by Pfizer that contains conjugated oestrogens. In the UK, doctors prescribe the medication (occasionally in addition to methyltestosterone) for osteoporosis, hypogonadism, and breast or prostate cancer, in addition to menopausal hormone therapy.
Properties and effects of Premarin
Both men and women have the female hormone Premarin in their bodies. Men may experience low oestrogen levels or high oestrogen levels due to hypogonadism (which is a potential side effect of inappropriate steroid use), but both of these conditions can have similar effects on the male body. Premarin can therefore be used as a type of hormone replacement therapy if steroid use results in low oestrogen levels in men.
Premarin application and dosage
It is recommended to take Premarin pills orally, with or without food. You can take it with food or right after eating to prevent stomach discomfort.
When taking extended-release pills avoid chewing, crushing, or dissolving them. The risk of side effects increases as a result of the drug’s potential full-on release.
